Training Manifesto

Good: bench day
Bad: 4 20oz beers from Tipsy Pig; not hungover, but still feeling them in the system

1. Set a goal.

2. Assess how realistic the goal is; chance are you're not going to look like an A&F model. Recalibrate the goal based on reality.

3. Set a plan; the plan needs to have both the program and the timeline.
3a. The program you pick isn't THAT important; pick something you think you can stick to.
   3b. 2x the timeline you've originally set.

4. Execute the plan.
4a. Don't measure your progress by how you look in the mirror; that's just the byproduct.  Measure your progress by how well you are sticking to the plan; the routine and the lifestyle allow you to achieve your goal.
4b. Life happens; just like injuries, train around it.
4c. If life gets in the way of training too much, reevaluate life.

5. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
5a. Timeline eventually becomes unnecessary; set this to infinity.
